Result for the last exam : FAIL ! AGAIN !!! somebody hello… stop this shit one day !!!

2 000$ ( just in exam ) 6 months
5 000$ ( formation) 6 months

Sent him an email however it was in English (bonne chance!). I doubt his office will respond to my complaint, request for transparency by the OACIQ as well as how they can be responsible for licensing professionals to an industry governed by provincial laws put in pace to protect the public but not require an specific training to be certified to practice.

Their lack of transparency since the new exams have come into place should be illegal. But how many of us are interested in a class action law suit? I am! I have over $2000 on my credit card from writing the new exam that I am still paying off. They are laughing all the way to the bank. How many times are we going to write this exam before we do something about it? What kind of feedback do you want ? Is it the one that says that most colleges have not adapted to the new realities … is it the one that says that people think they could pick up a textbook, walk in off the streets and ace the exam … is it the one where the OACIQ does not share any stats so that individuals or learning institutions can adapt … is it the one where the academics are considered experts but not the day-to-day practitioners … is it the one that says that that no one has a real interest in proper traning cause the financial windfall is very attractive … is it the one that ……………. ?????

Food for thought,

On the OACIQ website, the 2009 Annual Report gives a complete breakdown of examination results including pass and failure percentages:

Mandatory examinations – 2009
Affiliated agents, Number of examinations 2,639, Number of successes 2,243, Success rate 85%, Failure rate 15%, Average grade 72.8%
Chartered brokers and agents, Number of examinations 361, Number of successes 266, Success rate 73.7%, Failure rate 26.3%, Average grade 71.02%

Here is, in stark contrast, how the same information is seen on the 2010 Annual report:

MANDATORY EXAMINATIONS 2010 Old examinations New examinations
Number of candidates
Affiliated agents 3,367
Chartered brokers and agents 572
Residential real estate brokerage 12
Mortgage brokerage 13
Agency executive officer 18

On the 2010 report there is no mention of percentages or even a confirmation that if these are successes or not but I would imagine that to be the case. Wow, a total of 43 lucky candidates in all three disciplines combined managed to pass the new exams in 8 months!

I am curious to see what will be stated on the upcoming 2011 report and how. This further proves the lack of transparency by the OCAIQ when it comes to their new certification process! Oh and for those curious about the $$$ they make on the exams. In 2010 it represented 4% of their annual yearly revenue…$788338.00! Wonder what they will haul in this year?

The OACIQ say they are full for this month ( no more inscription ) 3 places open… and they are full… is around 300 persons…

300 X 600$ = 180 000$ for the next exam… is not too bad… more the person pay 200$ for a revision ( by the way don’t be stupid don’t pay for a revision )

Minister of finance ! yes yes…. is them give this powers to the OACIQ… but believe me they are not very happy… because the OACIQ say they will do that correctly… without abuse, farly etc…. the gouverment have to do something about this situation some abuse of us $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ or if you like that to pay 600$ every 2 months… and they say you fail for a reason you will never know…

they use lawyers to check our exam… because they are lawyers they know everything ?????… first they don’t know the new law…

Anyway write him… and let show them we are not STUPID at this point… !!!
